Letter: Fawcett is 'Effective Voice for Many Who Have None'

While I have always admired Kim Fawcett and the work she has done for the town of Fairfield, it is a privilege to volunteer for her in her bid for reelection, which I endorse with pride and enthusiasm. There is nothing more urgently needed right now than elected officials who are not only willing but have proven capable of voting on issues solely on the basis of what is best for their town and constituents, and not what is expected of them politically, or to enhance their own political careers.

Kim had proven capable of making tough decisions by relying on her vast experience, hard work and commitment, common sense, and above all, by listening to what is needed in her community. Her tireless work on our behalf has provided this town and its residents with some exceptional benefits, while voting to strengthen our fiscal standing. She has been a passionate and effective voice for many who have none, an advocate for public safety, health and stronger schools, a reliable partner for local businesses, and a pioneer on issues of the future, such as green energy.

And despite claims to the contrary, Kim's floor voting record is 93%. It is my sincere hope that Kim is rewarded for her exceptional commitment to all of us by having the opportunity to represent us for another term in Hartford. Our town will continue to benefit from her dedication and passion as she moves our town forward through difficult times to a healthier and more prosperous future.
