Letter: Herron is Right Candidate for Fairfield School Board

Kelly Dunn urges fellow residents to vote for Dorene Herron at the July 23 Republican caucus.

[Editor's note: The following Letter to the Editor was submitted by Kelly Dunn.]

Dear Editor,

I met Dorene Herron through all of the various town meetings (Board of Education, Board of Selectmen, Board of Finance, and RTM) that we have both attended these past two years following the budget cycle for our respective schools. Dorene has represented Sherman School while I have represented Osborn Hill School, and I have always admired her ability to be a Republican who also supports public education.

She is one of the PTA Board Members in Fairfield who attended meetings the most conscientiously and made her voice clear on the need for balancing taxes/spending with the need to make public education a top priority for the growing number of students in this town.

I continue to be impressed with Dorene's ability to analyze different situations from an operating budget standpoint to a capital-spending one, and take a step back to prioritize what's important for the long-term in Fairfield Public Schools.

Please join me in voting for Dorene Herron for Board of Education in the Republican Caucus on July 23 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fairfield Ludlowe High School (in the Lecture Room).

I trust that you will NOT be disappointed!

Kelly Dunn
