Letter: Sue Brand Thanks Family, Friends, Volunteers for Support

Brand will continue her service on the Fairfield Board of Education. 'My commitment to the people of Fairfield remains unchanged,' she writes.

Running for state office takes a great deal of time, effort, and planning. It cannot be done alone. My campaign for State Representative for the 132nd district serving Fairfield started when I announced my intention to run last February and throughout the long journey many lent a helping hand. For some it was a smile and a thumbs up as I walked by. For others it was a letter to the editor, a lawn sign, or opening your home and hosting a coffee. The warm reception I received at so many doors was inspirational. I will always hold those memories dear and it made it all worthwhile.

Thank you to all the volunteers who pitched in when we really needed it. Thank you to my wonderful faithful campaign crew and friends for their support, time and good nature. Thank you to my four grown children for supporting me in my endeavor. Last and by no means least, thank you to my husband for his patience, wisdom, and encouragement.

It was an honor to have been the Democratic Candidate for the 132 State Representative district. I wish all the best to State Representative Brenda Kupchick!
