Linda McMahon Visits Fairfield Businesses

The 2012 U.S. Senate hopeful rounded up a statewide, five-day tour of women-owned small businesses in Fairfield and Stratford.

As the former CEO of WWE, knows a lot about business -- especially businesses headed by women.

That’s one of the reasons why McMahon, who for Sen. Joe Lieberman’s seat in the U.S. Senate, conducted a five-day tour and visited more than 50 state businesses run by women this month, including a few stops in Fairfield today.

October is recognized nationally as Women-Owned Small Business Month, and McMahon felt the theme offered a “great opportunity” to get out and see such businesses in Connecticut.

“I like these informal meetings [with politicians],” Ross said. “It’s a unique approach. It’s probably much more impactful and it will probably reach a lot more people.”

Ross and McMahon chatted about various concerns Ross had about her venture; Ross said McMahon had some great tips for her.

McMahon said that, having been part of a business that she helped build from the ground up, she understands the aspects behind running a business and could offer some advice.

Primarily, though, McMahon said she set out on her tour to listen.

“I am hearing information from small business owners that I haven’t heard before, and it’s helpful to me,” she said.

McMahon’s last day on the tour included the following businesses in and around Fairfield:
