Metro Center Financing Subject of Wednesday Meeting

Board of Finance to Discuss Project Deficit, Possible Hiring of Independent Auditor at 5 P.M. Wednesday in Education Center, 501 Kings Highway East

The town's Board of Finance has scheduled a special meeting on Wednesday to discuss the Fairfield Metro Center, its projected $2.4 million to $6.4 million deficit, and the possibility of hiring an independent auditor to review the accounting and financing of the project.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will take place at 5 p.m. in the Education Center, 501 Kings Highway East.

The agenda for the meeting, as posted on the town's website, has two items:

1) To discuss the current status of the Fairfield Metro Center Project and to establish the requirements for necessary information to be delivered to the Board of Finance and other approving bodies prior to consideration of an anticipated appropriation for the completion of financing for the Project.

2) To discuss and act upon the retention of an Independent Auditor to conduct a review of the accounting and financing of the Fairfield Metro Center Project since inception.
