Romney Wins Majority in Fairfield, State

Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney also won in the four other state primaries held Tuesday.

Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney swept Tuesday’s primaries in five states, including Connecticut, according to an Associated Press report in the Connecticut Post.

Romney seized the majority of the vote in Fairfield, where voter turnout was low. Just 11.7 percent of the town’s nearly 10,500 registered Republican voters exercised their right to vote on Tuesday, according to the Fairfield Registrar’s office.

Perhaps that’s because, , the Connecticut primary comes late in the game; the race for the nomination is barely a contest by late April.
