The Bagel....on Stratfield Road in Fairfield....awesome bacon/egg/cheese, delicious coffee (iced coffee too!), & terrific service! It's a "hidden gem" here in town which is embraced by the neighborhood :)

Love Stratfield, not lovin' the Stratfield Bagel for awhile now. Bagels are not fresh, and the girl who works there can be testy (the young guy is really nice, though). Wish they would step it up many notches. My vote is for Bagel King on Black Rock Tpke!

The bagels at Billy's Bakery are much better than the Bagel, as Billy's make them fresh on site. The Bagel is not and they are pleasant there but Billy's is more delicious and you have a lot of other delicious croissants and scones as well.

How come Village bagels isn't on the list?

No bagel in the name, but Doughnut Inn on Blackrock Tpk has great bagels! Even though I found out they don't sell cream cheese separately -- and they also didn't know what Lox are. The bagels are steamed so they are crusty on the outside and very soft on the inside.

If it wasn't nominated during the nomination period, it didn't make the cut for this year's Readers' Choice. We'll be running this at least annually, if not bi-annually, so there's a chance for businesses that didn't make this time around to be included next time.

I would just like to say good luck to all bagel shops! But the Bagel on Stratfield rd is by far the best in fairfield no one around can compete with there big breakfeast sandwiches. They give the best they can offer. The bagels are fresh all day every day! So in all I kindly disagree!!

The contest was for best bagel shop (bagel) not bagel sandwich. No one can dispute the best of all breakfast sandwiches (and they have good bagels) goes to Country Cow Deli on Blackrock Tpk. The Bagel does not even come close -- been there done them all!!!!!!!

Cinnamon Raisin? Really? You can't put cream cheese on that. Good for the kids I guess.

Way too dry at Billy's, sorry!
