Pleasure Beach/Long Beach ~ Stratford, CT
Fairfield Weekly Real Estate Snapshot
On Saturday afternoon my husband, daughter and I went to explore Pleasure Beach/Long Beach in Stratford. There used to be summer cabins along one section of the beach, but the town of Stratford tore them down after the access bridge burned down and made the area a bird sanctuary/refuge ( for timeline and more go here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pleasure_Beach). It is gorgeous, with the sound on one side and the bird refuge on the other. It is about a 4 mile walk roundtrip. There were several photographers and bird watchers there looking for the elusive Snowy Owl. One bird watcher claimed to have seen one on 9 separate occasions. Go if you can, it’s a real hidden gem.
Fairfield had 23 new listings, 10 homes took a binder and 6 homes closed. Monday after Super Bowl is the official start to the Spring Market!
