General Assembly Public Hearing on Highway Tolls/Taxes Scheduled for Monday, Feb. 25th

On Monday, Feb. 25th at the Connecticut General Assembly’s Transportation Committee will conduct a public hearing to consider several bills aimed at re-implementing highway tolls/taxes – if you feel strongly about this issue, I encourage you to participate in the democratic process and engage your legislators with your thoughts and feedback:

  • HB 5125 - An Act Establishing Tolls on Connecticut's Highways
  • HB 6050 - An Act Concerning Tolls at Connecticut's Borders
  • HB 6051 - An Act Establishing Tolls at Connecticut's Borders and Reducing the Gasoline Tax
  • HB 6052 - An Act Concerning the Establishment of Tolls for the Extension of Route 11
  • SB 699 - An Act Decreasing the Gasoline Tax and Establishing Electronic Tolls on Connecticut's Highways Using a Congestion Pricing System


The hearing, which is free and open to the public, will take place at 10:30am in Room 1E of the Legislative Office Building (LOB), located at 300 Capitol Avenue, Hartford.  Driving Direction Link.

As your representative, who is committed to our community and strive to keep you informed and updated.  I encourage you to come and weigh in on this topic as it has grave implications for our finances/taxes, local economy and transportation infrastructure.

To Submit Testimony:

To submit testimony, bring 45 copies of written testimony to Transportation Committee staff in Room 2300 one hour prior to the start of the hearing.

Sign-up for the hearing will begin at 8:30am in Room 2300 of the LOB. The first hour of the hearing will be reserved for Commissioners, Legislators and Chief Municipal Officials.

Speakers will be limited to three (3) minutes of testimony. Please note that unofficial sign-up sheets have no standing with the Committee.
