Another Bad Winter? Fairfield Schools Plan for Snow Days

The first blanket of snow fell on Fairfield this week, and although it wasn’t enough to shutter schools, a plan is in place should snow days begin to pile up deeper into winter.

We’ve made it to mid-December without a day off, but snow days are inevitable, and when they come days will be added on to the end of the year. If snow days really start to accumulate, days will be taken away from students’ April vacations.

The last day for students and teachers in Fairfield is currently scheduled for June 11, according to Fairfield Public Schools.

The first seven snow days will extend the length of the school year, as well as the date of high school graduations. Any additional snow days will reduce the April vacation, beginning with Monday, April 14.
