Buzz Building for Fairfield's Town-Wide Spelling Bee

Fifth-graders will be putting their skills to the test Wednesday night.

On Wednesday night, you'll have a chance to find out if you're smarter than a fifth-grader — at least when it comes to spelling.

Fifty students from Fairfield will be competing in this year's town-wide spelling bee. The students are already winners — they won the classroom competition — but only one will be crowned the town's spelling bee champ.

You can cheer them on — and find out if you really are smarter — at the competition, which starts at 7 p.m. on April 9. It will take place in the auditorium at Roger Ludlowe Middle School, 689 Unquowa Road, Fairfield.

The annual event is sponsored by the Junior Women's Club of Fairfield.
