Persevere. Press on. No matter how dim things may look, push forward.
That was the message more than one speaker evoked Thursday at the 7th annual commencement ceremony for .
"We will stumble, we will make countless mistakes, we will have more questions than answers," said Emma Sweet, salutatorian of the Class of 2012.
"Life is a great balancing act," said Sweet, quoting Dr. Seuss.
Valedictorian Olivia Morrison addressed her fellow classmates after Sweet, and also echoed the importance of determination.
"We fought hard to get here," Morrison told the Class of 2012, 354 students strong. The valedictorian gave thanks to her family for their support and told her classmates to do likewise.
Class President Sara Wiant was the first of her peers to speak.
She paid tribute to the diversity of career goals the Class of 2012 has set for itself. Wiant said graduating seniors are looking to become lawyers, veterinarians and music teachers.
"No doubt five years from now you'll come back [to the reunion] with great memories," she said.
