Dwight School Principal on Leave for 'Indefinite Period of Time'

In an April 1 letter to parents, Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Title wrote that Principal Scott Bannon is 'out on leave for an indefinite period of time.' Retired educator Carol Spangler is serving as acting principal.

Dwight Elementary School Principal Scott Bannon is "out on leave for an indefinite period of time," according to an April 1 letter to parents penned by Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Title.

"Unfortunately at this time we are unable to share any details about the reason for this leave or its duration," Title wrote.

Retired Fairfield Public Schools principal Carol Spangler will serve as acting principal during Bannon's absence, according to the letter. Spangler visited with students and staff on Monday.

The administration met with Dwight faculty Monday regarding Bannon's leave, according to Title's letter.

Bannon was appointed Dwight principal in July 2012. He previously worked as an assistant principal in the New Fairfield school district, as an instructional improvement teacher in McKinley School, and taught grades 3 and 5 at McKinley.
