Cancer Prevention Discussion @ the Fairfield Public Library

The Health Matters Series hosted by the Fairfield Public Library continues on Thursday, December 8 at 7 p.m.  Dr. Veronica Waks, N.D. will continue her popular fall series of lectures.  This month’s topic is Cancer Prevention.  The lecture will be held in the Rotary Room of the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.

Dr. Waks will discuss the vital role of vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants in cancer prevention and the differences between conventional and naturopathic approaches to healing the body.  She will also discuss the importance of breast cancer screening and early detection, as well as, the various technologies employed today to detect cancer including mammography and thermography.

Dr... Veronica Waks is a licensed naturopathic physician, who graduated from the University of Bridgeport’s College of Naturopathic Medicine. As a naturopathic physician, she combines a contemporary naturopathic approach to healing with the keen insights of a medical doctor. Prior to earning her doctorate in naturopathic medicine, she received her MD degree from the Vladivostok Medical University and practiced internal medicine and family medicine. Upon her arrival in the United States Dr. Waks passed her United States Medical License Exams and obtained a United States Foreign Medical Certificate. While practicing conventional medicine Dr. Waks became concerned about the negative side effects and interactive effects of many standard pharmaceutical treatments, and initiated personal study of natural and alternative treatments. Instead of pursuing a conventional medical career Dr. Waks attended naturopathic medical school and practices as a naturopath.  Dr. Waks is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
