September 25, 7-9pm Cheese 101

Are you a cheese lover?   Do you want to know more about it? Cheese 101 is the place to start. Sit and relax over a plate of some of our best cheeses (with a little wine to wash it down, of course) as Laura and Chris bare the basics. We’ll guide you through a scrumptious tasting of fresh and bloomy cheeses, washed rind and aged, plus a variety of cow, sheep, and goat cheese, all while learning about cheese-making.  Leave with your new-found knowledge and order with confidence the next time you’re at a cheese counter.

October 2, 7-9pm: Oktoberfest

If you can’t make it to Germany’s annual Oktoberfest this year, why not join us for the next best thing? This class is a festive tribute to German food and beer culture. We’ll sample the most beer friendly cheeses and Chris will prepare a few traditional German goodies to accompany the beers of the season.

October 23, 7-9pm: And the Winner IS... American Cheese Society 2012

In August the American Cheese Society holds its annual conference and competition where hundreds of American-made cheeses go head to head to determine which ones will be deemed the best of the best in their specific categories. It also happens to be American Artisan Cheese Month so this class will be a celebration of our own country's talented cheesemakers. We’ll taste some of the winners and discuss the revolution in American made cheeses.

November 13, 7-9pm: Fondue

Fondue is back big time, and what better way to get together with friends and family on a cold autumn night? We’ll experiment with several different fondue recipes using a variety of alpine and other hearty cheeses in all their warm and creamy glory.  We’ll have lots of delicious dipping accompaniments and a couple of wine selections to add to the fabulous fondue fun.

November 27, 7-9pm: Perfect Pairing Cheese & Wine

Every so often, we find pairings of cheeses and wines that go above and beyond, complementing each other in a way that can only be described as "Marriages-Made-in-Heaven.”  In this class, with the help of our friends at Harry’s Wine & Liquor, we will pair the perfect cheese with it’s perfect wine match and discuss the basics of pairing  cheese & wine.

December 4th, 7-9pm: Cheese & Chocolate

Indulgence in great food and drink around the holiday season is nearly universal, and tonight we do it right! We’re kicking off the holiday season with a carefully paired tasting of cheeses and chocolates and washing it down with sparkling wine. A rather indulgent evening for sure. Let the holiday decadence begin!

FHA Exposed, you can rest. Atticus, Ralph Arnone is next scheduled to appear in court on July 1st, at which point he isRead More expected to enter a plea. As an aside, one isn't supposed to go to bed and wake up still angry at the same thing, day in, day out, week in, week out, month in, month out... I'm not trying to give you a hard time. I care deeply about firefighters and I'm genuinely concerned about you. You were exposed to a lot of chemicals in your career. You may have some endocrine system damage or something causing an electrolyte disorder. This stuff starts out with things like joint pain and minor psychological implications but, it gets much, much worse. Get to the doc. Maybe you're just a spicy guy, maybe Ralph hurt you in some terrible way, or maybe you are sick and as a result, you'll be facing a much shortened a painful life. Honestly, I'm not trying to give you a hard time or pick a fight.

Well thanks for your concern Creeky. But at my age I cant say I have lived a shorten life. As forRead More chemicals...well as most of the posters here on this rag say, firemen do nothing 99.9% of the day so I guess the on chemical exposure would be to the big comfy leather chairs in the dayroom. Why do you care anyway Creeky? In your previous posts about me you said, don't feed to trolls. You are not honest Creeky. Take your fake concern and false "honesty" and waste it on someone else. Not trying to give you a hard time, those are your comments about me. Where did you get the info on Ralphy?
Creeky June 19, 2013 at 08:05 am
Atticus, review your own posts. It isn't trolling. It's a vendetta. If you think I'm dishonest,Read More fine. I'm not going to try to speak rationally with someone whom is irrational. Why do I care? Because I've seen how much care fireman are capable of, and how much they give of themselves. It's respect and karma. As far as where I got the info, it's publicly available. If you wanted my help in how to find it yourself, perhaps you shouldn't have attacked my character. You are on your own now.
