Connecticut Employment Trends: Finally Turning the Corner?

Job declines stopped in Connecticut in early 2010 and improved over the rest of the year.  Although job growth was disappointing through most of 2011, the year ended on a high note, suggesting some positive momentum.  Join economist Patrick Flaherty for an update on Connecticut employment trends, national industry and occupational projections, and highlights about the fasted growing professions.  Additional topics will include the many services and online tools available to jobseekers from the Connecticut Department of Labor.  This program will take place Tuesday, June 5 at 7 pm at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.

Patrick Flaherty is an economist in the Connecticut Department of Labor’s Office of Research.  Flaherty is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Connecticut with a concentration in labor economics.  He has a bachelor’s degree in social studies from Harvard University and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Connecticut.  He was appointed by former Governor Jodi Rell to the Commission on Nonprofit Health and Human Services.
