Puberty: What to Expect and When to Start Talking about It

You’re not the only one who gets nervous thinking about “the talk.”  Nurse practitioner Carol Kagdis will talk about being ready when your child is ready.  She will discuss body changes in children and how parents can answer children’s questions.  This program will take place Thursday, February 9 at 7 pm at the Fairfield Public Library.

Carol Kagdis is a nurse practitioner and Global Medical Director for Sikorsky Aircraft.  She is an adolescent medicine specialist, having spent 10 years working in adolescent medicine at Johns Hopkins University and the Baltimore City Health Department.

This talk is part of the Library’s Pathways to Parenting series offered September through March.  Additional topics include – Countdown to Kindergarten, Making Math Fun for Kids, Pre-K – 3rd Grade, Understanding Your Son, and more.  For a complete list of the Pathways to Parenting talks, visit the Library’s website www.fairfieldpubliclibrary.org/children.htm.
