Sacred Heart University Presents Roxana Saberi
Sacred Heart University Presents Roxana Saberi. While working in Iran in 2009, Iranian-American journalist Roxana Saberi was captured by intelligence agents and charged with espionage. After a sham trial that made headlines around the world, the 32-year-old reporter and NPR contributor was sentenced to 8 years in Iran's notorious Evin prison. But following international pressure, she was released on appeal later that year. Saberi will share her compelling and inspirational true story during a discussion about her new book, Between Two Worlds: My Life and Captivity in Iran, which gives a deeply revealing account of a complex nation.
