Sacred Heart University Presents Ted Kennedy, Jr.
National Public Radio member station WSHU Public Radio will hold a special event featuring Ted Kennedy, Jr. for a talk about his late father, Edward Kennedy, and the Senator's bestselling memoir, True Compass, on Monday, May 10, 2010, at 7:30 pm, at the Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts in Fairfield, CT. This event is part of WSHU's popular lecture series, "Join the Conversation," which brings noted authors to the community for engaging, thought-provoking discussions. This event is free and open to the public; a book signing will follow his talk.
Edward M. Kennedy was widely regarded as one of the great Senators in our nation's history. He was also the patriarch of America's most heralded family. Ted Kennedy, Jr., will talk about his father's legacy as well as his landmark autobiography, True Compass, which gives an unprecedented look at the late Senator's extraordinary life – both in and out of politics – covering 50 years of history. Senator Kennedy, who was battling brain cancer, died in August 2009, at the age 77, just weeks before the book's release.
