Yale’s Dr. Carlos Eire to Discuss His Award-Winning Autobiography of Life as a Cuban Exile at SHU Public Forum

Dr. Carlos M.N. Eire will present “On Learning to Die Everywhere Continually: Confessions of a Refugee Boy.” Waiting for Snow in Havana and Learning to Die in Miami are Dr. Eire’s two autobiographical volumes on growing up in Castro’s Cuba and his subsequent life as an exile. Dr. Eire is the Riggs Professor of History and Religious Studies at Yale. The National Book Award-winning author is an expert of medieval history and modern Spain.

This event will take place at Sacred Heart University’s Schine Auditorium, 5151 Park Avenue, Fairfield, on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at 7 P.M. It is free and open to the public.  The lecture is co-sponsored by The Human Journey Core Colloquia; The College of Arts and Sciences; The Department of Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies; and The MARS Program and Delta Epsilon Sigma.
