Letter to Dr. Title: 'Put Stronger School Security Measures in Place'

Good Morning Dr. Title:

Our son, Luke, is an elementary school student in Fairfield. Everyday, we send him off to school with complete trust and faith that he will be safely returned to us at the end of each busy day. We have taken that for granted.

There are no words to describe or even begin to understand the horrific tragedy that occurred so close to us yesterday. It is unthinkable. Unimaginable. Surreal. There is a lot of 'unpacking' that needs to be done for parents, students, educators over the coming days and weeks, even months. This will take a very long time I am sure.

I am writing today though to urge you to put stronger school security measures in place immediately.

My request needs no explanation. The reasons are obvious.

I trust that you will be making arrangements to improve school security immediately, but in the interim I wanted to be sure I contacted you directly.

I look forward to hearing back from you.
