Selectmen Postpone Vote on $11.6M Ludlowe High Project

The Board of Selectmen postponed a vote Wednesday on the $11.6 million Fairfield Ludlowe High School expansion and renovation project.

The board will hold a special meeting at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, to vote discuss and vote on the project, according to Jennifer Carpenter, Deputy Chief of Staff for First Selectman Michael Tetreau.

Officials toured the high school on Tuesday and heard from school personnel, teachers, and students regarding the school's space issues and potential overcrowding should enrollment rise as projected.

The proposed project includes expanding the cafeteria and adding two science labs and four general-purpose classrooms to the school; replacement of windows with high efficiency units; and the replacement of the roof.

The May 22 meeting will be held in the first floor conference room of Sullivan Independence Hall.
