A town-wide meeting on school security will be held this week in Fairfield.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, Jan. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Fairfield Warde High School, 755 Melville Ave.

The town’s police and fire departments, Superintendent of Schools and First Selectman will be holding this public information session on school security to address concerns raised by recent events and actions Fairfield is taking to address them, according to First Selectman Mike Tetreau.

This public information session is the first step in a series of public sessions coordinated by the town’s PTA’s to respond to the many questions raised on steps the town and school district can take to maintain and improve security in Fairfield’s schools, said Tetreau.
