Free Long Term Athletic Development Talk

The goal of this symposium is to inform the parents, coaches and players about proper development of student athletes both mentally and physically from youth to elite.  Specific info will be presented on pre-adolescent, adolescent, and adult athletics.

The symposium will be held in Fairfield Ludlowe High School’s Auditoium Tuesday September 18th.  There will be three featured speakers.

Dr. Will is a sports psychologist and will be speaking about coaches, players, and parents roles in athletics from youth to professional sports.  He will touch on the psychology of actions from players, parents, and coaches.  Dr. Will is also a youth sports coach in the community for both soccer and lacrosse.   His practice is Willpower Therapy in Southport.

Dr. Owens is pediatrician from Willows Pediatric in Westport.  He will be speaking about his view on youth athletics as a parent/pediatrician and common trends he sees in his clinic.  He is also an active member in the local youth sporting community.

Josh Heenan is the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Sacred Heart University for their baseball program and Head Strength Coach at Moore Physical Therapy in Southport.  He will be speaking about long-term athletic development from about 6 years old to professional sports.
