Fairfield American Begins Play In Sectional Tournament on Wednesday

Faces district four winner Orange in opener

On Wednesday, Fairfield American, the District Two champion, begins play in the state sectionals, which is the next step on the road to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Each of the state's 11 district winners will compete in two sectionals. Section one comprises districts one through five and will be hosted by Shelton American. Section two is for districts six through 11.

A full round robin is contested within each section (four games in section one). At the conclusion of pool play, the top two teams in the standings meet in a single contest to determine the sectional champions.
