Fairfield American Thanks Fans in Runup to Little League World Series

'Thank You From the Bottom of Our Hearts...We'll See You All When We Get Back'

Editor's note: The following letter was received from Brian McGrath, a coach on the Fairfield American Little League team that is on a historic run, winning a game Saturday night that places them in the Little League World Series. Fairfield American's first World Series' game is at 1 p.m. Friday.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We saw you, we heard you, we felt you. Thousands and thousands of you there to root for our team Saturday night in Bristol, Ct.

They say it takes a village.

On Saturday night it took a village of absolutely priceless, frenzied, fanatical, rowdy, funny, exuberant, red-faced, red-shirted friends, family, neighbors, classmates and teammates with their absolute "A-game" on in front of a national ESPN audience to push us over the top and will us to victory over Rhode Island.

Our road to Williamsport was paved by the legions of people from Fairfield and beyond who have come out and shown their support all summer season long, but none more so than when it counted on the biggest stage with the most at stake Saturday night. We could not have done it without you.

Stay with us, please. We have a little more work to do and a few more dreams to dream. We are going to do our best to make you proud. We'll see you all when we get back.

Love,

The players, coaches, parents, brothers and sisters of The Fairfield American 12-Year-Old District Team, Team Connecticut and now Team New England.
