Fairfield Prep starter Nick Vig had just one bad inning against undefeated Notre Dame of West Haven.
After blanking the Green Knights through five innings Monday, he surrendered four runs in the sixth, as the Jesuits suffered a 4-1 loss to Notre Dame of West Haven in the Southern Connecticut Conference opener for both teams.
Notre Dame improved to 6-0, while Fairfield Prep dropped to 5-2. Vig (1-1) went the distance, allowing only five hits.

Connor Marr and Max Freccia each had two hits for the Jesuits, who had a three-game winning streak snapped.
Dave Beisler, who was the winning pitcher, tied the game with an RBI single in the sixth before William Meade put the Green Knights ahead with a two-run double.
