Fairfield Prep Lacrosse Drops Second Straight
Jesuits fall to New Fairfield, 12-7, in regular-season finale
This is not the way the Fairfield Prep lacrosse team envisioned going into the postseason.
The Jesuits dropped their second straight game Thursday night, falling to New Fairfield, 12-7, at Alumni Field in their regular-season finale.
Earlier in the week, Fairfield Prep fell to Cheshire, 9-8, losing its first game of the season against an in-state opponent.

New Fairfield improved to 14-2, while the Jesuits concluded the regular season at 12-4. The two losses caused Fairfield Prep to slip from second to sixth in the the lax power.com state rankings.
Fairfield Prep, which is seeking its fifth consecutive state championship, received a No. 2 seed in the Southern Connecticut Conference playoffs and will host No. 7 seed Hamden on Monday at 4 p.m.

Cheshire earned the top seed and could meet the Jesuits in an SCC championship game rematch. The semifinals and finals of the SCC tournament are at Branford High School on Wednesday and Friday.
Cheshire and Fairfield Prep are both in Class L, so a third meeting could take place down the road in the state tournament.
