Fairfield Prep Wins SCC Boys Lacrosse Title

Jesuits roll to an 11-1 win over Cheshire in the title game at Branford

Kevin Brown and Connor Kelly each scored three goals Friday as Fairfield Prep cruised to an 11-1 victory over Cheshire in the Southern Connecticut Conference boys lacrosse final at Branford.

Brown added three assists for the Jesuits (15-4), who regained the title they lost to Cheshire last season.

It was Fairfield Prep's eighth league championship since 1996 and its third in the last four years. The Jesuits played in the SCC final for the sixth consecutive year.

Matt Brophy had two goals and Tim Edmonds, Harry Cotter, David White, Tyler Cox and Patrick Hayes one each for the Jesuits, who blanked the Rams after giving up a goal in the first quarter.

It was close early as the Jesuits held a slim 2-1 after the first quarter, but Prep scored four goals in the second period to build a 6-1 lead at the intermission.
