Former Fairfield Warde girls lacrosse star Taylor Bargmann recently signed a letter of intent with Central Connecticut, where she will continue her career.

Bargmann, who registered 53 goals and 13 assists for the Mustangs last season, left for New Britian at the end of last week to begin her freshman year.

Bargman also played basketball and soccer at Warde, but will concentrate solely on lacrosse at Central.

Bargmann, who scored 127 career goals at Warde, was a first team All-State pick last year.

Notre Dame of Fairfield junior running back Nigel Beckford has been named as a player to watch this season by ESPNHS while Fairfield Warde senior offensive lineman Mike Money received the same honor.

Notre Dame of Fairfield is beginning its first under former major league baseball player Rico Brogna while Duncan Dellavolpe is starting his third season at Warde, having led the Mustangs to a pair of 5-5 seasons.

Here is a list of football scrimmages for the week involving the four Fairfield schools:

Wednesday: Fairfield Prep at Fairfield Warde, 4 p.m.

Saturday: Fairfield Ludlowe at Fairfield Prep, 9 p.m.

Saturday: Fairfield Warde at Hillhouse, 10 a.m.

Old Greenwich's Alicia Dibos finished third last week in the championship fight of the LPGA Teaching and Club Pros championship at the Golf Club of Ballantyne in North Carolina.

Among other local players, Susan Ginter of Rolling Hills of Wilton placed fourth and Fairfield's Angela Aulenti, the head pro at Sterling Farms in Stamford, tied for seventh in the senior division.

Dibos posted a three-round total of 218, three shots behind winner winner Lori Atsedes, of Litchfield Park, Ariz. Dibos, who was born in Peru, improved each day, posting rounds of 75, 73, and 70.

Ginter (71-74-74) finished at 219 and Aulenti (74-77-74) signed for a 225.
