The Mariners were set to conclude the regular season on Sunday with a doubleheader against the winless Stamford Mets, but the twinbill was postponed due to Hurricane Irene.
The regular season concludes on Sept. 11. The Mariners have clinched a spot in the championship tier playoffs. The top four teams advance while the Nos 5-8 clubs play in the postseason in the second tier playoffs.

Notre Dame of Fairfield junior running back Nigel Beckford has been named as a player to watch this season by ESPNHS while Fairfield Warde senior offensive lineman Mike Money received the same honor.
Notre Dame of Fairfield is beginning its first under former major leaguer Rico Brogna while Duncan Dellavolpe is starting his third season at Warde, having led the Mustangs to a pair of 5-5 seasons.
