Fairfield Prep distance runner Connor Rog made the most of his trip to Greensboro, N.C. for the New Balance Outdoor National track and field meet on Thursday.

Rog was the runner from New England in the 3,200 meters and finished seventh overall with a time of 15:03.07 that established a Fairfield Prep school record.

-- Fairfield Warde's Ted Berkowitz earned a spot on the all-FCIAC boys tennis first team, a squad that also includes Staples' Dan Hirschberg, Wilton's Noah Farrell, Greenwich's  Tyler Kratky, Danbury's Tommy Inouye and Ridgefield's Arnaud Valentin.

-- Fairfield Warde's Harry Warnick was named to the All-FCIAC first team in boys outdoor track in the 3,200-meter run.

Fairfield Ludlowe's 4-x-800 relay team (Andrew Fernandes, Will Galle, Robert Thottam and Jack White) were named to the second team.

Ludlowe's John Grant also earned a spot on the second team in the javelin throw.

On the girls' side, Warde's Alyson Leppla was a first team pick in the shot put and the discus.  Ludlowe's Sydney Kay earned a spot on the first team in the 100 meters.

-- Fairfield Ludlowe's  Alyssa McAndrew and Fairfield Warde's Christie Schneider  earned spots on the girls tennis All-FCIAC first team.

Fairfield Ludlowe's tandem of Layne Rissolo and Brooke Mackno also made the first team in doubles.

In addition,  Ludlowe's  Daria Efimov and Warde's Haley Wolf were all-FCIAC East picks in singles. Fairfield Warde's Elise Finzi and Abbie O’Hara and Fairfield Ludlowe's  Paige McCormick and Dillon Casey earned the same honor in doubles.

Warde's Marysa Walsh was an honorable mention pick in singles.

 -- Fairfield native J.J. Henry rebounded from Saturday's 76 to shoot a 1-under par 70 on Sunday - his best round of the tournament - to finish in a tie for 54th in the U.S Open at Congressional.

Henry finished at 7-over 291 after posting rounds of 72-73-76-70.  Among the players also at 7-over was Phil Mickelson.

On Sunday, Henry had four birdies, one bogey and one double bogey, which came on the par-4 eighth hole.

Henry made his seventh appearance in the Open with his best finish a tie for 26th at Oakmont in 2007, which also is his top performance in any major.

Henry's lone PGA Tour win came in his home state in 2006, when he won the Buick Championship, now the Travelers Championship, in Cromwell.

Henry has only one top-10 finish in 18 starts this year, but he has finished in the top 25 six times and ranked 56th on the money list heading into the Open.
