More than 4,000 runners participated in the race, which is regarded as one of the top half marathons in the Northeast.

In Saturday's 5-K race, which attracted 1,500 runners for the 3.1 mile course around Jennings Beach, Ansonia's Timothy Milenkevich crossed the finish line first with a time of 16:07. The top female finisher was Darien's Amanda Tripodi with a time of 18:59.

U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Connecticut, also participated in the event, running for the John Patrick Flanagan Foundation.

The St. Patrick's Gaelic Football Club of Fairfield is hosting the first Cul Camp in Fairfield County. Cul is the Irish word for "goal" and Cul camps are hosted in every county in Ireland throughout the summer months to promote children's interest in Gaelic football.

The camp will run from Monday through Friday on the campus of Sacred Heart University, which, with a vibrant Irish studies program, has been very supportive of this initiative.

As of Saturday, 90 Fairfield children had signed up for this camp. St. Patrick's is flying two coaches from Ireland to lead the training: Enda Kilpatrick and Terry McCann, both natives of Pomeroy County Tyrone.

Fairfield native J.J. Henry posted his fourth straight round in the 60s on Sunday, but it could only get him a tie for 24th in the Travelers Championship in Cromwell.

Henry posted rounds of 68, 67, 66 and 69 to finish at 11-under 269 and take home $46,425.

Henry, whose only tour victory came in Connecticut, finished 11 shots behind winner Fredik Jacobsen, who posted a winning score of 20-under 260.
