Fairfield Warde Football Subdues St. Joseph, 28-6
Mustangs force six turnovers to win second straight and climb over .500 at 4-3
The St. Joseph football team was in a giving mood and Fairfield Warde gladly accepted the largesse.
Devon Lofton and Maxx Garrett each had two of their team's six turnovers as the Mustangs defeated the Cadets 28-6 Friday night at Tetreau/Davis Field.
St. Joseph actually grabbed a 6-0 lead when Jon Prutting returned an interception 47 yards for a score in the second quarter, but it was all Warde after that as the Mustangs erupted for three touchdowns to take a 21-6 lead at the half.

Warde grabbed a 7-6 lead on Lofton's 9-yard TD run before Chris Foley tossed a 4-yard TD pass to Dario Pugliano. Lofton then raced 56 yards to give the Mustangs their 15-point halftime cushion.
Pugliano capped the scoring when he returned an interception 46 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.

In an up-and-down season, the Mustangs (4-3) put together their first two-game winning streak and climbed over .500 heading into next week's clash against Staples in Westport.
St. Joseph dropped to 1-6 a year after the Cadets won their second straight CIAC Class S state championship.
