Fairfield Warde Routs Fairfield Ludlowe, 52-13
Devin Lofton rushed for 250 yards and three TDs as the Mustangs routed the Falcons to finish the season at 5-5
Thanks to Devin Lofton and company, the Battle of Fairfield was no contest.
Lofton rushed for 250 yards and three touchdowns Thursday morning as Fairfield Warde drubbed Fairfield Ludlowe 52-13 at Taft Field.
Lofton, who earned game MVP honors, also had a touchdown reception, helping the Mustangs finish at 5-5 for the third straight year under coach Duncan Della Volpe.

Warde began the season with higher expectations but suffered a number of disappointing losses during the year and had to settle for another .500 campaign.
Ludlowe was saddled with an 0-10 season and is just 1-19 over the last two years.

Warde jumped out to a 16-0 lead on Lofton's 70-yard run and his 15-yard TD reception from Chris Foley, who threw three TD passes.
The Falcons got on the board on Matt White's 41-yard TD run, but Lofton's 45-yard TD scamper made it 23-6 at the half.
The Mustangs broke it open in the third quarter, extending their lead to 38-6 on Foley's TD tosses of 15 and 45 yards to Max Garrett.
Ludlowe's Stephen Scholz momentarily stopped the rout with a 4-yard TD in the third quarter before Warde tacked on two more scores in the final period. Scholz was named Ludlowe's game MVP.
Kevin Sullivan hauled in a 20-yard TD pass from Foley and Lofton capped his career with a 79-yard burst.
