Fairfield Warde Track Star Named Sports Person of the Year

Fairfield Warde High School track and cross country standout Cate Allen was named a sports person of the year by the Fairfield County Sports Commission.

The Fairfield County Sports Commission named their 2013 Sports Persons of the year earlier this month, and Fairfield Warde High School track and cross country star Cate Allen was given the honor for the town.

The commission names Persons of the Year for each of the 15 communities it serves, and local honorees will be recognized at the 9th Annual Sports Night Awards Dinner on Monday, October 21, at the Hyatt Regency in Greenwich.

In each community, a committee headed by a local town representative of the commission selects a Person of the Year. "Each winner was deemed to have had the most positive impact in their sports community from August 2012 to August 2013," according to the commission.
