The Ludlowe High School girls' lacrosse team used balanced scoring and an impressive run Monday to post a 13-4 victory over Trumbull.
Co-captain Haley Welke scored three goals to pace the Falcons, who improved to 7-2 heading into Wednesday contest against Staples.
Kendall Stevenson added two goals for Ludlowe, with her first coming during a 10-0 burst that helped the Falcons build an 11-1 cushion.

After Sarah Nesi and Christy Barre opened the scoring for Ludlowe, Anne Christiano got Trumbull on the board, but that was as close as the Golden Eagles would come.
"We did pretty well," Ludlowe coach Amy Alvord said. "We came out strong, which was one of our goals today."

Tierney Larson scored to start the big run, followed by Stevenson. Welke scored two in a row late in the second quarter, giving Ludlowe a 9-1 halftime cushion.
"I really want to give Ludlowe credit," Trumbull coach Lou Monaco said. "I think they came out and were ready to play. They passed well and they came out strong on offense."
Stevenson scored to open the second half before K.C. Mcauliffer found the back of the net to cap the 10-0 run. Mary Rose Rappa and Lisa Pulie then tallied for Trumbull.
Welke completed her hat track to make it 12-3. Trumbull's Sara Balakrishan and Ludlowe's Lizzie Pratt traded goals to complete the scoring.
After facing Staples, the Falcons meet cross-town rival Warde at home on Friday.
