Welcome Fairfield American Home Thursday

The team is expected to arrive at Sherman Green by bus at 2 p.m. Thursday.

The New England champions are expected to arrive in Fairfield Thursday at 2 p.m. and the town will be ready to welcome them home.

Officials, parents, friends, and supporters will be waiting on the Thursday afternoon to greet the players and coaches and congratulate them on their World Series run, according to information from the First Selectman's Office.

Fairfield fire and police vehicles will escort the bus once it enters town to Sherman Green.

Coaches and players will talk about the season and its end at the Gazebo. First Selectman Michael Tetreau and other officials will also speak on the team's achievement.

“Congratulations to our Fairfield American Little League players on a great season," Tetreau said in a release. "I want to let them know that they make our Town proud and they are a great example not only to the youth in our Town, but around the world. In addition, when I look at all the other titles and championships that our boys and girls have won this year in Little League, it may not be too long before people start referring to Fairfield as Title Town USA!”

The following teams will also be recognized at the ceremony for their accomplishments this season:

  • Girls Little League Softball: 12 Year Olds-CT State Champions
  • Fairfield National Little League: 10 Year Olds-Section 1 Runners Up
  • Fairfield National Little League: 11 Year Olds-CT State Champions

Members of the public are welcome to come out and attend the celebration. Hot dogs and soda will be served after the ceremony.
