Fabulous Fancy Fairy Nets

It warms my heart every time the children from The Cardinal Shehan Center (CSC) walk through our doors at The Pink Pom-Pom Project (PPPP) to make a special craft each week. Their ages range from 5 to 12 years of age, boys and girls with their Counselors aging from 16-21.

The children from The CSC come mostly from lower income households with very little wiggle room for extra curricular activities other than what the inner-city youth facilities provide like The CSC.

We are a very different kind of organization, we are a profit-for-non-profit. We have a free-standing store called 'a little square' and inside is our little gem called The Pink Pom-Pom Project. 25% of all sales from a little square go directly to support The PPPP.

We provide free crafting materials, equipment, space, helpers and an Instructor to teach them arts & crafts. Personally I hate the word 'craft' because we're are not doing just that. At the PPPP we believe our bright, colorful surroundings spurs the creative spirit and encourages these children to discover new skills and techniques. We want to help develop these skills, build confidence, and drive children’s passions for design and crafting. The ultimate goal is to achieve a ‘thinking out of the box’ mentality for arts and crafts.

Our crafting ranges from Fancy Fairy Nets to Glitter Frames to Paper Lanterns. But these aren't just your ordinary every day items, they are decorated with silk flowers, glitter, jewels.... you name it, we've got it!

We are a local community outreach program helping those who cannot help themselves. These children need our support to help build their creative spirits.
