<p>Roger Sherman School, built in 1963, is one of the town's 11 public elementary schools and is the only public elementary school that is south of the Post Road. The town used to have two elementary schools south of the Post Road, but the building that housed Oldfield School is now occupied by the Fairfield Senior Center.</p>
<p>Roger Sherman School's 474 students (March 2010 figure) attend classes in 19 permanent classrooms and a pre-fabricated six-classroom addition that was installed by the town in late 2009. Roger Sherman's bricks-and-mortar capacity, without the six-classroom addition, is 357 students.</p> <p>Roger Sherman School's enrollment was projected on Nov. 30, 2009 to peak at 478 students in 2011-12 and to then drop to 466 students in 2014-15.</p> <p>Students who graduate from Roger Sherman School attend Tomlinson Middle School.</p> <p>Roger Sherman School's principal is Eileen O. Roxbee.</p>
