<p>St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, founded in 1876, is one of seven Catholic churches in Fairfield overseen by the Roman Catholic Diocese in Bridgeport. The parish, at 1719 Post Road in downtown Fairfield, is next to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School, which is open to children in pre-kindergarten (3 years old) to eighth grades.</p>
<p>The regular Mass schedule at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish is 7 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. Monday through Friday; 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday; and 7 a.m., 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and noon on Sunday. Confessions are from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Saturday or by appointment with a parish priest.</p> <p>Ministries offered at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish include bereavement, volunteering at Thomas Merton House in Bridgeport and Operation Hope in Fairfield, Americares Homefront Project, Thanksgiving food baskets, Christmas Giving Tree, adult choir, contemporary chapel choir, lectors, altar servers, adult altar servers, Prayer Line, ushers and the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, which is the process through which interested adults are gradually introduced to the Roman Catholic faith and way of life.</p> <p>The pastor at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish is the Rev. Victor T. Martin, who is the 15th pastor at St. Thomas since its founding in 1876.</p>
