The South Pine Creek Recreation Area, 78.5 acres at 250 Old Dam Road, includes the town's Par 3 Golf Course, , a…More nine-hole, par 27 course; the Kiwanis baseball field; Sullivan Football Field, which becomes two small-sized soccer fields (140 feet by 70 feet) for first- and second-graders in the spring; the Tom Haydon Softball Field, which also functions as a Little League field; a field for soccer and lacrosse; a concession stand; and restrooms.</p> <p>Lights at the Tom Haydon Softball Field can only be used for games by leagues organized in conjunction with the Parks and Recreation Department.</p> <p>Regulations of the town's Parks and Recreation Department state that use of fields by any group of eight or more people where four or more are at least 18 years old and that is engaged in a recreational event requires a permit from the Parks and Recreation Department. Permits will only be granted when at least 80 percent of the group are permanent Fairfield residents.</p> <p>Priority in granting permits is given, in the following order, to: Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department-sponsored activities; Fairfield public school-sponsored activities; youth and adult leagues and activities that consist of all Fairfield residents; any other youth and adult league or activity at the discretion of the Parks and Recreation Department.</p> <p>People who do not have a permit for use of the field must give way to permit holders.</p> <p>Team, league and tournament play is permitted only on a reservation basis. Residents can make a reservation by calling the Parks and Recreation Department at 203-256-3191.</p> <p>The field usage fee for special events, such as fairs, festivals, programs, specialty shows, camps, clinics, lessons/specialty coaches and tournaments, is $50 per hour.</p> <p>The regulations also say that any field can be closed by Gerald Lombardo, director of the Parks and Recreation Department, at any time and to any activity.</p> <p>The Par 3 Golf Course costs $7 a day on weekdays and $9 a day on weekend days and holidays for residents with a Golf I.D., which can be purchased for $35. Discounts on daily play are offered for residents at least 62 years old and residents from 10 through 17 years of age.</p> <p>Residents who are at least 62 years old can play on the Par 3 Golf Course at a rate of $6 a day on weekdays and $8 a day on weekend days and holidays with a Golf I.D., which costs $35.</p> <p>The cost for residents who are from 10 through 17 years of age is $6 on weekdays and $8 on weekend days and holidays with a Golf I.D. The Golf I.D. costs $25 for residents who are 10 through 17 years of age.</p> <p>Non-residents are charged $14 a day on weekdays and $18 on weekend days and holidays, unless they are at least 62 years old, in which case the rates are $12 on weekdays and $16 on weekend days and holidays, or from 10 through 17 years of age, in which case the rates are $12 on weekdays and $16 on weekend days and holidays.</p>
