Registration for Fairfield Pop Warner Football begins on March 15 and runs through June 30, and practice begins on Aug. 1. The cost for the 2010 season is $315 for tackle football and cheerleading and $105 for flag football. The cost for Midget level football players (grades 8 and 9) is $150, and the Midget level is now an unlimited weight division, with no maximum weight for 12- and 13-year-old players.
Fairfield Pop Warner Football is part of the National Pop Warner Little Scholars program, the only national youth sports organization that requires its participants to perform adequately in the classroom before permitting them to play.
Pop Warner says it uses football, cheerleading and a respect for education to develop strong, smart, responsible and healthy young men and women and that it gives them experience that builds their appreciation for, and understanding of, leadership, teamwork and discipline.
