Laura Downey, ACS, CCP
A lifelong “foodie” and former retail professional Laura Downey is co-owner of Fairfield Cheese Company in Fairfield, CT. Opened in May 2009 Fairfield Cheese Company has quickly become the area’s premier source for artisanal cheese and was the recipient of CT Magazine’s 2011 Best Cheese Selection in CT. Laura is an active member of The American Cheese Society, the leading organization promoting and supporting cheese in North America, a member of the VT Cheese Council and Slow Food USA. She is also a graduate of Murray’s Cheese Boot Camp for cheese professionals. She is a frequent cheese columnist for local media outlets and has also developed the curriculum and teaches Cheese School at Fairfield Cheese Company. Laura and her husband Kevin have lived in Fairfield for 16 years and have two grown children.
