'Cantina Redefined': Tapas Bar Baró Coming to Brick Walk

Restaurateur Richard Reyes has set his sights on Fairfield to launch
Baró, a "cantina redefined."

Baró will take over the spot on the Brick Walk Promenade that once housed Vino and Mare.

Reyes hopes to bring Latin, Spanish, and Caribbean flavors in a "casual and upbeat" way with the tapas bar and restaurant.

He's already has success with Baró's sister restaurant in Danbury, Mezon, which was crowned "Best New Restaurant" by Connecticut Magazine in 2012.

Mezon's slogan is "Old World tradition, New World flavor" -- an atmosphere that will be recreated at Baró.

There is not set opening date yet as the space is currently under renovations, Reyes said. Keep up with Baró news by following the restaurant on Twitter -- @baro_ct -- or check out www.baroct.com.
