C. Marina Marchese: Author Talk and Honey Tasting at the Fairfield Woods Branch Library

Join us when local author C. Marina Marchese visits the Fairfield Woods Branch Library on Thursday, September 26 at 7:00 pm to talk about her book, The Honey Connoisseur.   The Honey Connoisseur (co-authored with Kim Flottum) is a comprehensive primer on honey, from a brief explanation of how bees pollinate plants and produce honey to the concept of terroir.  Terroir, a familiar concept to wine lovers, has not been widely associated with honey until now.  Knowing the terroir of a honey informs an understanding of its flavor.  Learn about tasting, selecting and pairing honey.  The Fairfield Woods Branch Library is located at 1147 Fairfield Woods Road.  Registration is required.

In addition to a post-talk book signing, there will be a honey tasting sponsored by Red Bee Artisanal Honey. At the honey tasting table the color, aroma, textures and flavors of the honeys will delight patrons.  Red Bee honey will also be available for purchase at this event.

Marchese is the visionary behind Red Bee Artisanal Honey and is also the author of Honeybee:  Lessons from an Accidental Beekeeper.  She is the founder of The American Honey Tasting Society and lives in Weston, Connecticut.
