PEQUOT LIBRARY HOSTS A POETRY SCAVENGER HUNT

In honor of April being National Poetry Month, Pequot Library hosts a Poetry Scavenger Hunt. It will start in the Children’s Room at Pequot Library. For ages 6-11, Pequot’s staff will hide some "poem treasure" around the Library and finding the clues will lead children onward. Each poem found and read will send them further towards the grand prize: a piece of cake and some ice cream in honor of Pequot Library’s founder, Virginia Marquand Monroe, for her 176th birthday. Collect the found poems in a booklet to be taken home. Recite a favorite before taking the first bite! Registration required, contact: (203) 259-0346, ext. 18.

In addition, to commemorate National Poetry Month, Pequot Library will publish a daily posting on their Facebook Fan Page for teenagers and adults. Pequot’s “Well-Versed” online program will be all about poems, poets, quotes about poetry, and will offer hints on writing poetry. Like and follow Pequot Library on Facebook to receive daily inspirations.
