SACRED HEART UNIVERSITY TO HOST FIFTH ANNUAL RELAY FOR LIFE

Sacred Heart University will host its fifth annual overnight fundraiser Relay for Life this April. This year’s goal is $50,000, surpassing last year’s donations of $45,916. Last year, 40 teams participated with over 300 in attendance. This year, 24 clubs and organizations are already on board and have raised over $4,000. Sacred Heart’s Dance Team, Best Buddies, SHU Choirs, the Thomas More Honors Program and Greek Life are just some of the groups raising money for this worthy cause.

This year’s event is entitled “Relay Rewind,” and will incorporate themes from various decades, along with a desire to make cancer a thing of the past. Relay for Life at Sacred Heart is organized by students in support of the American Cancer Society. Student bands, performers and DJs will play throughout the night, and activities will include popular events such as a dodge ball tournament, scavenger hunt and Zumba.
