Learn how our environment shapes our genes @ Fairfield Public Library

The Fairfield Public Library Health Series will
present a lecture on Epigenetics:  How
Our Environment Shapes Our Genes on Wednesday, May 15.  The lecture will be held in the Rotary Room
of the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road at 10 a.m. and then again at 7 p.m. at
the Woods Branch Library, 1147 Fairfield Woods Road.

Karen Drena, a Holistic Health Practitioner, will be discussing the topic of
Epigenetics.  Our genes are cloaked with
organic molecules chemically attached that can alter the behavior of the genes
they are connected to.  This can cause
genes to be more or less active.
Epigenetics is the study of how these gene-regulating attachments are
installed and detached.  Often these
epigenetic changes occur in response to what we eat and our physical and
emotional environments.

Advanced registration is required due to the limited space.  All programs at the Fairfield Public Library
