Patty Larkin

Patty Larkin is part of a long lineage of singers and storytellers; growing up in a musical household before being swept up in the folk revival of the 1960's. With the dulcet guitar work and street smart lyricism, Patty Larkin crafts songs reminiscent of an eerier Joni Mitchell or Carole King. Patty sang her way through college in the coffee houses of San Francisco and the pacific northwest, using her music to rationalize the turbulence of the time. The result was an atmospheric guitar and an honest voice.

Ever invented, Patty Larkin has become renowned for her creative playing and writing as well as the often odd formatting of her music. To celebrate her twenty fifth year of recording, she recorded twenty five songs with twenty five different friends, giving each of them free reign over the track. The result was "25," one of the most eclectic and eccentric records around; with collaborators like Suzanne Vega, Shawn Colvin, and Martin Sexton. Her subject matter is as diverse as her aesthetic with lovers, ghosts, and hangovers, Patty Larkin's honesty is as entertaining as her ability.
